[this is good]
Hi Folks:

New member here. My name's Hadley but my moniker is "Bees Here Now."

I just started this Earth Day and have a pretty monstrous hive with three deeps on it. It's doing fabulously on my garage roof.

I wanted to harvest just a couple of deep frames (didn't bother with a super this year).

I'm ready to do it any time (obviously I'm getting to it a little late) and would like to borrow/rent an extractor asap. Any leads?

Also, since I'm doing at most two frames, do I even need an extractor or is there a managable way to deal with it without one?

Also, any leads on cheap suppliers? I'm ready to expand this spring,

Thanks for any help,

The Alameda County bee club has both an electric and a manual extractor for rent to members. It costs $15 a year to join, and $10 to rent the manual or $15 to rent the electric. A great deal!

You could try scraping the frames and suspending them over a basin to drip. One of our members had good success with this method; another tried it, and got very little to drip out.

If you come to one of the meetings, held the second Tuesday of every month, you can get catalogs and advice about where people shop.
